Read the story A Dream and a Dram to get more of a background to this twice monthly event in a new Stamford venue called Tavern 489. Essentially, a musician plays for 30 minutes while a sketch artist sketches him/her in a special notebook. The acoustics are amazing, the sound through the PA bloody marvellous and I am happily their artist in residence. Although I’m in the studio a lot, playing out every couple of weeks will mean I’ll stay fresh as well as play much more regularly new tunes I’m writing in the studio. So, you’ll often hear exclusives months and months before they make it to vinyl. If you check out T489’s Soundcloud page you’ll hear my interviewing the other artists who perform in this two-hour event as well as have record them record a song exclusively for T489. They’re brilliant.
