I’m thrilled to share two unique music videos that combine the themes of empowerment for women and accessibility. These accessible videos, launching this Friday November 15th, highlight my commitment to making music more inclusive for everyone, especially using British Sign Language interpretation and closed captions.

The Journey Towards Accessibility

Now seems like the right time to share these accessible music videos with you all and mark a new chapter in my music journey. 🎶 We filmed recording the song live in the studio, thanks to Vincent Carnevale of Petrichor Pictures. Each video offers a unique way to experience the same song. But first, let me give you some background.

Introducing Never Felt Like a Woman

A few years ago, I decided I wanted my music to be accessible to everyone, including those in the deaf community. Stop Walk Talk was the beginning of this accessible journey. So, I collaborated with an incredible British Sign Language interpreter. Susan Merrick brought the lyrics to life in a way that feels deeply personal and true to the spirit of the song. Never Felt Like a Woman expresses the frustration of feeling dismissed and undervalued in a relationship. It explores the struggles of facing a lack of genuine connection and support, as well as the overwhelming feeling of being overlooked—ultimately, of being trapped.

Collaborating with Susan Merrick

Some of these lyrics may resonate with you, and to varying degrees. The song’s message seeks to remind a woman of her self-worth, her identity, and the importance of fighting for what she deserves. The work and dedication put into these videos represent my commitment to inclusivity, and I’m deeply grateful to Susan for her skill, patience, and passion. Susan’s interpretation adds a visual language that deepens the connection with the lyrics. For those who prefer or rely on captions, the second video includes closed captions meticulously timed to align with the lyrics. Above all, both versions of the video aim to make the song accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
